The Christian Education Team plans and oversees the various educational opportunities at Emmanuel. The team is responsible for selection of Sunday School curriculum Vacation Bible School curriculum, ensuring the Confirmation program is running smoothly, introducing our newest members (our infants) to Christ through the cradle roll program, and encouraging establishment of new small group ministries for our members and the community.
Activities: In addition to the activities listed above, the Christian Education team provides appreciation tokens to our teachers and mentor throughout the Sunday School year. We have a monthly sign up by team members, who then make little gift bags for each teacher or mentor in our Christian Education program. The gift bags are not extensive, but show our volunteers that they are valued. It takes just an hour or so to come up with an idea, purchase items, package them, and bring them to Sunday School for delivery.
Christian Education also sponsors the annual Advent Event. Planning is done during Christian Education Meetings in October and November. Team members are asked to help provide food for the luncheon, and asked to participate in setting up and/or tearing down the room on the day of the event.
Meetings: We meet at 6:30 PM on the second Tuesday of the month in the Youth Trailer. We do not have meetings in December, June and July.
